Could this, would this have been the year of the planet?

The year to tackle what's now routinely called the climate emergency?

If of course, it hadn't been for that well, other emergency.

The year my guest on this week's political thinking might have hoped to take her place

alongside David Attenborough and Greta Thunberg, one of those arguing that we had to change

the way we live now.

She is Sean Berry, who's just been newly reelected as co-leader of the Greens, whose conference

starts this weekend.

It's good to see you on our Zoom call.

How is it preparing for a party conference at a time when A, it's virtual and B, you must

know that people's attention, their interest is elsewhere?

I'm not sure about the attention being elsewhere business, to be honest.

I think there's an awful lot of interest in finding the right solutions to these multiple

crises that we find.

And I really think that our party members who are very exercise, like you say, about climate

change, about the crisis we face there, but are also on the ground.

They are the ones who are working in the mutual aid groups, trying to sort out proper community

level resilience.

There's an awful lot to talk about.
