You know the experience when you meet someone and they start talking about what they do for

a living and all this passion and knowledge just pours out of them and it's so impressive

their knowledge and passion that you could listen to them for hours.

Maybe selfishly if you're in a job you don't like or a place in your life where you feel

a little stuck, you think, wow, how do I get some of that?

Well I love what I'm doing and I'm not stuck but when I first started communicating with

Melissa Davis, my guest today, I definitely wanted some of whatever secret sauce she has

going on in her life because she wowed me.

Melissa is the director of Library and Archives at the George C. Marshall Foundation.

The institution chosen by William and Elizabeth Friedman to be the guardians of their life's

work.

In crafting this series we reached out to the Marshall Foundation to discuss archives

and licensing rights and all the kinds of things that one does to produce a show like

this and they have been wonderfully supportive throughout the process.

But it was Melissa's passion and clarity and well of knowledge about Elizabeth that has

really carried the process through.

I hadn't intended on interviewing her but by the time we had just a couple of conversations

I knew I must.
