So climate scientists are fleeing Twitter.

Peter Gleck, a climate water specialist with nearly 99,000 followers announced that he's

no longer going to post on Twitter because of all the attacks he gets every time he posts

something. There's all these automated trolls and bots and people who are being paid by the

fossil fuel industry. Another climate scientist, Robert Rode, basically says the same thing he

works at Berkeley Earth. They analyzed climate tweets and they found that since Musk took the

company over, the average number of likes they received was down 38% and average retweets fell

40%. I'm seeing, by the way, very, very similar numbers on Twitter. Basically my growth on Twitter

just froze the week that Elon Musk took over or maybe the month that he took over and the number

of retweets and likes and things that I'm getting is just it's tanked. I mean, it's just fallen

off a cliff. Catherine Aho, the climateologist, she says the same thing. She's having problems

with Twitter. Replies from apparent trolls or bots increased 30 times over the two-month period.

That's 300%, no, that's 3,000%. Compared with the previous two years, she tweeted on January

2023. She says, before October, my account was growing steadily at a rate of several thousand
