for re-identification.

And one of the chief weapons we use against ourselves is misidentification from

ourself toward ourselves. And without going too deeply into the psychology of that, that would take hours.

But I just want you to know that God is the definer of yourself.

Religion tells you that it's your job

to discover who you are,

and it's actually a gift of discovery that we inherit by way of knowing who he is.

So it's the journey tonight is beautiful because it began we began to gather around the

table of being fascinated with him and locking our gaze with him and from there we migrate into being disarmed by what we see in his eyes.

And I want to say to you that what he holds in his hand to give to you tonight is authentic identity.

Not a rule of measurement.

He's not here to measure you, he's here to define you.

So the quicker you and I can escape from the weapon we've held in our hand that continually measures our progress, continually measures

our growth. We just let all of that go and we say what identifies me what defines me is one deeply beloved.

One dearly beloved. I say it like this when the core of all that constitutes my identity is that I am

beloved it's in that place that I begin to find my way into freedom and for some of

us beloved identity may be lodged here.

It may be partly lodged here, and some of it's gotten into here.

But when it becomes the core of all that constitutes your identity. Let me say it again, because some of you think you're hearing me,

you don't know what I'm talking about until you never take the whip out against you again.
