Times of darkness are certainly part of our journey in this life. But thank the Lord,

he never leaves us to face the darkness alone. One of the great blessings of the 23rd Psalm

is the promise of the shepherd's presence. Thou art with me.

Let's join Scott Pauley now as he continues this series, The Shepherd of the Shadows.

For the last several studies, we have pitched our tent and drove our steak in the ground and gotten our tools out and been digging around in the soil of Psalm 23.

And what a fruitful study it has been.

And now as we come to the conclusion of this study,

I would like to come full circle back to the title of the series. Psalm 23 reveals to us

the shepherd in the shadows, that our God, who is all light watches over us even in dark days. Aren't you glad that it's not just in

the stillness God works, it's in the shadows? That even when the lights go out and we cannot see,

God sees through the shadows. Psalm 23 and verse number four says, yay, I know what you love that word,

that great positive word. We look at the circumstances and say no and we look to the lord and we say yes yes yea though i walk through the valley

of the shadow of death i will fear no evil for thou art with me thy Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.

Let me give you today just some concluding things to consider.

First of all, consider the shadows of life.

Everybody has been in the shadows, everybody.

And maybe you're in them right now.

Perhaps you know someone that's in them right now.

David is the one writing Psalm 23. David, for all the light and bright days, had his shadows,

didn't he? He had his dark moments, his valleys, his caves, his times on the run, his nights of

fear and tears. Everyone has their shadows. But ponder even the usage of the word.

Why use the word shadow? Shadows are not real. Shadows do not have substance in them. A shadow cannot
