Summary

The Shamrock Live takes your questions on Notre Dame's ability to get its season back on track after the last-minute loss at Ohio State. The Irish offense got plenty of questions, particularly the passing game and Gerad Parker's willingness to lean into it.

football. So we've got a couple questions in there already. So first up, we're going to go to Derek

M. Hey, thanks, Pete. I wonder about the amount of true freshmen playing this year and what your impression of it is, is it that Kelly left the cabinet bear, that Freeman just has a lot more talent, that there's just a lot of opportunities to mix in these players who are making an impact.

1:05.7

There's less of an emphasis on seniority, whatever it is, just your impressions on the freshman recruiting class and what it means to come.

1:11.7

Thanks.

1:12.6

I think when I look at the freshman class, I mean, you've got Jeremiah Love,

1:16.2

Jaden Great House, Rico Flores.

1:18.5

I mean, those are kind of the big ones on offense.

Not that, what, Great House and Flores, I think, in particular, are quite good, and we're going to be hits eventually. But I don't know if they would be playing nearly as much as they were. You know, but beyond that, you know, we've got certainly Jeremiah Love at running back. As much as I think Great House and Flores are playing because of really good players,

1:45.9

there's also like a need component there.

1:47.9

Jeremiah Love is at a freaking loaded position.

1:50.5

And I'm not so sure that he's, you know, all due respect to Andric Estimate.

1:56.8

I'm not so sure that Jeremiah Love isn't the best back on the team in terms of pure talent. It doesn't make him the most fitting guy to play, but he is a special, special athlete. You know, but beyond that, there's been a ton of guys to play. You know, Christian Gray's got in there a little bit. I think that's sort of a, you know, talent won't be denied there. You know, if Drake Broan hadn't had a concussion, maybe he would have played a little bit more.

2:21.1

But I think, you know, in terms of freshman playing this year, it's pretty much on par with what it was under Kelly.

2:28.3

I think that the difference is that we're seeing it at a wide receiver, which is a position that we just hadn't seen it a whole lot

2:34.4

in the past. But if you're a top player and you can help, you know, Brian Kelly would play you,
