in a corner. Welcome to a special announcement from the 1001 Ghost, Chiller, and Lovecraft podcast.

We're thrilled to announce that we are now carrying the original episodes of the

legendary radio drama, The Shadow. But before we dive back into the darkness, we have to ask,

why does a character from nearly a century ago still captivate us in 2026? In reality, the shadow is

Lamont Cranston, a wealthy young man about town and socialite.

But behind the tuxedo was a secret forged in the Orient.

Cranston spent years in India and the Far East, where he learned the ancient, mystical power,

to cloud men's minds, essentially becoming invisible to those around him.

Armed with this uncanny ability,

his signature slouch hat and a pair of 45 automatics, he returned to New York to wage a one-man war against the underworld. He wasn't alone, though. Alongside him was his lovely companion,

Margo Lane, the only person who truly knew his secret identity,

and a network of ages that kept him one step ahead of every criminal mastermind.

Long before Batman ever dawned a cowl or Superman took flight,

the shadow was America's first true superhero with uncanny powers.

He premiered on the airwaves in July of 1930, originally as a mysterious narrator, but he quickly became the star of his own show. From the
