thus were the heavens and the earth were finished and all the host of them.

And on the seventh day, God ended his work which he had made,

and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God

blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

So we find the creation of the earth in chapter one the placing of man upon the earth and then

the declaration that on the seventh day God rested, not that he was tired because of all of the energy

that had been expended in the creating of the earth because God is omnipotent, that means

he can't get tired but he had finished his work and so he

just rested from his work in other words there's nothing more to create. It's all being created.
