For the reading of God's Word, we're continuing our series of the gospel according to Matthew.

We have one gospel, not four, but we have this one gospel according to four different men

inspired by the Holy Spirit, Matthew being one of them.

Our text today is Matthew chapter 5 verses 31 and 32. We only have two verses, but they deal with

the subject matter of divorce. And so that's going to cause us to have to cross reference to

many other biblical texts as well in order to have a thorough

robust and well-rounded teaching on that subject which is very relevant for our day a day that is

filled with rampant divorce and so because of that even though it's only two verses in our primary

text with cross-referencing and dealing with other verses that deal with the subject matter of divorce,

we likely, just to warn you guys ahead of time, we'll probably be on this subject and dealing

with this text, Matthew Chapter 5, verses 31 through 32, for at least two weeks, perhaps even three.

That said, we could, my wife could go into labor at any moment.

And with Franklin, I remember she went into labor here at church, which was perfect.

I didn't miss a single Sunday because I got to finish preaching.
