Contextualizing full season stats.

over at RotoViz, the headline. It doesn't really explain a whole lot. The idea behind this show,

I think we mentioned it on some recent shows, was that at the end of the regular season season just seemed fun to dig into some of the

numbers that were out there and when I say full season stats I mean the you know the regular

season numbers you know how many receptions how many yards how many TDs guys scored very basic

stats that are number one they drive fantasy scoring and they are going to drive narratives

all offseason. And so it's fun, I think, in the early part of the off season or helpful

in the early part of the off season to try to contextualize those things, try to think through

those things. There's that quote that we love to talk about on the show where drafters always

learn the wrong lessons from the prior year or

or kind of tell themselves stories about the prior year and can tend to learn some of the wrong

lessons. It's helpful, I think, to try to document your thinking on the season right at the end of the season, you know,

and to kind of set the stage for the whole offseason because by next August,

all we really have is those stats.

The way that I talk about it sometimes is people like to look back at these numbers.

It's always a small sample and act like it's the only outcome that could have happened.

And it's a weird way of saying it because it's hard and fast data.

But in a lot of cases, it's just not the only way things could have went.
