Let's get into the mix. Here are your Washington headlines of the day. Number one, where things stand on the border deal in the Senate. Number two, the Freedom Caucus looks to take out an incumbent. And number three, the latest on

the tax deal. All right, Jake, let's get into it. All eyes are on the Senate this week with the House

out and trying to figure out the tea leaves, read the tea leaves here about whether or not

an agreement is going to come together on an immigration border package that has been

negotiated for weeks at this point. Still no end game in sight here. Well, the good news is

our audio, Anna. I've been getting reports that our audio has been a little

bit off. I think our audio is now not off or rather on. I think this is a very good sign. Back on track. You

could hear, I can hear you loud and clear. That doesn't matter. But we are all loud and clear here at

Punchpole news. So the news, to the extent

there is any news, the news on the, well, let's take a step back. It's just the Senate in session

this week. And that seemingly was a good opportunity for some movement on the border bill. Now, what became abundantly

clear to us yesterday is that movement's going to be really tough to come by. So Chuck Schumer

said last week as early as this week, he wanted action on the floor on the border bill.

Effectively, what happened is they got it to session yesterday and everyone kind of said it's not

going to be this week um there are still problems on parole there are still they still have to get
