you look down and your hands are empty.

So what happens, awareness or essence or consciousness does a vanishing act

because it's not anything you can feel or think about. It exists, it creates, it is aware.

Awareness cannot be seen but is responsible for all seeing.

Awareness cannot be heard, but without it, there's no hearing.

Awareness cannot be thought of,

but without it, there's no thinking.

Awareness cannot be imagined, but without it

there is no imagination.

This is what I mean when I say that awareness does or essence does a vanishing act because it's not anything you can see or feel or think about it exists. It creates. it is just aware so if you go to the great teachings of a great

sage called Vashishta who taught something called the yoga of Pashishta when he was describing the ultimate

Enlightenment he says if you want to find it, then you need four conditions, and they must exist if you want to find reality.

Number one, contentment, which means a restfully alert mind.

Number two, inquiry.

To get real, you must question what is unreal.

Are your perceptions real or unreal?

Well, as we've already seen, perceptions are very unreliable

and momentary and aminescent.

Are your thoughts real?

Same thing.

Is your body real?
