When we talk about meditating on the word of God,

another way to translate it would be,

chew your food carefully. it sink in go back and read

that first again don't you gotta read the verses no think about it ponder it

some people just want to check the box on the scriptures they've read.

Pastor Greg Lorry says much better to let the scriptures check our hearts.

I'd rather read 10 verses with comprehension than 10 chapters without it. Chew the word of God.
