Recently, there's been a lot of talk about NIL deals in college sports, with athletes getting lured to one school or another by the promise of a big contract to use their name, image, and likeness.

But for athletes that are not the very top recruits, there's another trend that has apparently been having a big influence on recruiting.

I spoke with the athletics Ari Wasserman about this bizarre phenomenon last year, and we're replaying that episode today.
