| 1:06.9 | You were watching The Remnant Radio, a crowdfunded show where we interview pastors, teachers, historians, and theologians from different churches and denominations. My name is Joshua Lewis, and this is my co-host, Michael Roundtree. Together, we want to help you break outside of your theological echo chambers. If you're interested in learning about history, theology, or the gifts of the spirit, this is the show for you. You might be asking yourself, |
| 1:28.4 | Josh, you are in a different space. That's right, because I'm in, I'm in Asbury right now. I'm kind of in, I'm in Lexington, Kentucky. There is this, like, revival that's happening right now in this moment here in Lexington that we wanted to come and film and get some stories on. And Michael's like a really important pastor now, So he couldn't come with me. I got to go. I took Elijah. So now Michael's over there. But I got to remind you guys, before we dive into the stories of former revivals and present day revivals, I've got to remind you that Ribbnet Radio is an entirely crowdfunded ministry. So if you want to support the channel, there are links in the description. You can give a one-time gift there on PayPal or a reoccurring gift on Patreon. I choose to give on Patreon. You get access to extra content there on Patreon. Like me and Elijah Stevens, we went to Kane Ridge, which is like 40 minutes from here. We filmed at Kane Ridge and kind of talked about the stories of, what's his name, Stone, Pastor Stone, it's escaping me at this very moment. Stone Campbell? No, no. Barton, yeah, it sounds like Martin, Barton. There was kind of like a partnership between Stone and Campbell, but anyway. Yeah, yeah, he's the Presbyterian pastor. We went and viewed his church and saw all that stuff. It was pretty cool. was fun, kind of walking back through the journey of like kind of the revivals that happened here in Kentucky. From that to the, in 1970, there was kind of a renewal, holiness kind of thing that happened here at Asbury as well. So we're excited to kind of tell that story. But without further ado, I want to introduce you the voices that are speaking behind the curtain. I've got Michael Roundtree on the left, and I've |
| 2:52.0 | got Dr. Doug Weaver on the right, who's been on the show a couple of times, always excited |
| 2:57.4 | to talk to Doug about revival and that kind of history. Before I introduce him, I want to give |
| 3:01.5 | Michael a chance to give some witty banter. Michael, cue witty banter. That's my assignment, huh? That's your, that's your assignment. |
| 3:09.4 | Okay. Well, I, I am a little jealous that you're at Asbury, Josh. I'll have to be honest. |
| 3:15.3 | That sounds awesome. I want to go, now you called it a revival. Are you saying for sure it's a |
| 3:21.6 | revival, Josh? Or are you saying it's a maybe revival? |
