Hey, hey, hey, this is Jennifer Allwood, and this is the Jennifer Allwood show where we talk about creating a beautiful home and building a creative business. So there is seriously no big secret to

decorating or business success for me or for anyone else.

You just need to try some things in both your house

and some business.

And I seriously think that has been one of my secret sauces

to my success, that I have just tried a lot of things almost like throwing stuff at the

wall at times just to seeing what would stick but you know what it has actually really worked for me and I want to

encourage you guys to do the same.

So I can remember when I was growing up,

all the walls in our house were white.

And perhaps you grew up in a house similar to that.

I grew up in a little community in rural Iowa and my parents liked

all white walls and not a whole lot of decor and a completely opposite of what my taste is today as an adult.

But I can remember when I was living at home that you know my parents would say,

you know, as soon as you get a home of your own one day you can decorate and do to the walls whatever you want and I can remember kind of tucking that in the back of my mind as a young girl and thinking

Okay, I cannot wait to get my own house someday so I can just have wild walls and

color everywhere and so I can do whatever I want in not only just my room but my whole entire house.

And so I was seriously so excited, even as a young girl,

to be a homeowner.

And so I graduated high school, young,

started college, left home when I was 17, and at 18 I rented my first

apartment and this was a whole new world for me, you know, decorating a college
