recorded between 1988 and 1989.

but due to the age of the recordings and lack of any official or professional capturing of the sound,

the quality of these segments is less than optimal.

But, as they are the only known recordings of this important work of theatre, they are included here as a record of the production. The

The As our evening, the theater begins, we are met by the sounds of a well-played violin.

And as the curtain is drawn back, we find ourselves face to face with the visage of Sherlock Holmes,

bowing his signature instrument amidst the adornments of Baker Street.

As the spotlight on Holmes fades, we see another familiar face emerge from the darkness,

and are greeted by the welcoming voice of Dr. John Watson.

The circumstances which led to my first meeting with Sherlock Holmes,

the meeting which was to change and shake my life, are of no consequence,

except to say that I had been serving as an army

doctor in the second Afghan war I was wounded and dispatched home in frail health for nine

months I stayed in a private hotel in the Strand leading a comfortless meaningless

existence and spending as much money as I had, consider me more freely

than I ought. So alarming did the state of my finances become that I soon realized that I

must either leave the metropolis and rusticate somewhere in the country or make a complete

alteration to my style of living. I was without kith or kid to concern me, and therefore I was, I suppose, as free as

as Ed.
