falling off a railroad track, but into a pond of delicious chocolate, something like that.

Now, I invited my guest on to discuss tariffs, specifically whether or not the Trump administration

can invoke emergency powers to levy tariffs. And we do, in whether or not the Trump administration can invoke emergency powers to

levied tariffs. And we do, in fact, cover that in the case winding its way through the Supreme

Court at this very moment. Lest you be concerned that it's dry legal analysis or standard

heat and ranting about free trade, my guest makes a very compelling case that the

implications of this case are momentous and could be a kill shot on executive overreach.

But we don't get very far before we go off the rails beautifully.

Let me give you a teaser.

There's a very common political diagram called the political compass, which charts where people sit ideologically when it comes to politics.

The X-axis is how much government intervention you want in the economy, like minimum wage or subsidies.

The Y-axis is how much government involvement you want in social decisions like gay marriage or marijuana.

Ron Paul would be low on both of those axes.

Bernie Sanders would be high on economic intervention and low on social intervention.

William Jennings-Bryon would be high on both.
