where we put down our worries from the day and pick up a good book.

I'm your host, Elizabeth, and it is so lovely to have you here with me tonight,

because this evening... So lovely to have you here with me tonight.

Because this evening, I'm excited to be beginning,

the secret garden by Francis Hodgson Burnett.

I have loved this story since I was little, though admittedly I was first

introduced to it by the movie that was released in 1993. The novel, however, was originally published in 1911 and revolves around the experiences of a little girl named Mary Lennox, who is born to wealthy but neglect for parents in British India.

When she's orphaned, she's forced to uproot her life to live under the care of her troubled uncle, but learns to find

peace in nature.
