What is happening right now is so important for college football because it gives everybody else hope.

If Indiana can do it, if Ole Miss can do it, Lord knows we can do it.

Joined, as always, by Bruce Feldman and Ralph Russo. We are here in this period between the quarterfinals and the semifinals of the CFP guys.

The transfer portal is open. There's a lot going on.

I want to start, though, with a story you did, Bruce, coming out

of the weekends. The SEC is now, correct me if I'm wrong, two and seven in the CFP and in

bowl games when they're not playing each other. It's by far the worst performance they've had

that I can remember. And, you know, just, I think, a confirmation of what many of us has suspected that this is just not the same conference it once was.

You have a quote, an anonymous quote in this story from a coach that says, there needs to be an evaluation of this narrative of the SEC is these big bad MFers,

because they're getting their asses whipped in these games.

Explain.

So I was talking to a coach a couple of days ago, and it wasn't about this, but it was about a few other things. And then it got to that.

And I got off the phone with him and talked to my editor, Jill, at the athletic, and said, you know,

I think there's a story I should be pursuing here, just to see if this is something a bunch of coaches

are noticing too.

And obviously, I was just at the Rose Bowl where we saw the bluest of Blue Bloods

when it comes to the SEC, Alabama, just get absolutely brutalized by Indiana.

And so, you know, kind of looking at that, it wasn't just the bowl record.

You go back, the last year's playoff wasn't great for the SEC either.

You had Notre Dame beat Georgia by whatever was 13 points.

You had a couple other games that didn't go their way.
