Connor. Will, I need to address something off the top that I admittedly overlooked last

pod when we were recapping all of these SEC bowl games. And by the time you look up and you realize what other

people are talking about, you realize that you have forgotten a topic that's pretty pertinent

to the very subject matter that we discuss twice a week.

True or false?

The SEC is dead.

One word answer?

No.

False.

Yes, I would agree.

True to what you said, false to what I said, which is, yes, he's dead.

By the way, Chris Budden is going to join us, talk a bunch of different things, recapping

2024, and then we're going to end with Ladd of the week.

And obviously, we're going to be talking about the Cotton Bowl previewing all things,

Texas and Ohio State.

But I saw this really come out after the Georgia loss to Notre Dame and with the Big Ten having two teams in the semifinals.

And it kind of hit upon seeing everybody talking about this, this narrative, this discussion, that we are a Texas loss to Ohio State away from this being the first time since 2004,

2005 that the SEC would have consecutive years without a team playing in the national

championship. Significant, right? Significant. If Ohio State takes care of business, that will be a takeaway more so than ever because it'll be a northern national title game in consecutive years.

Or all the times that we've looked at that map of the teams that have won the national championship and how very few of them in the 21st century have been out of this specific region of the country
