On The Naked Scientists this week, how fish use secret ultraviolet face markings to tell friend from foe,

a trick to modify mosquitoes that could keep dengue fever grounded by making sure the females can't fly,

and new fossil evidence of gigantic sharks in Cretaceous seas, but rather than terrorizing the oceans, they munched on shellfish on the sea floor.

Also this week we're looking at the scientific issues surrounding water. We'll be finding out

how a pressure monitoring technique can help to reduce the strain on our water pipes

and reduce some of the 32 billion cubic meters of clean water that are lost through leaky pipes every year.

Plus we'll be finding out how building a dam can change the local weather.
