I'm a gun owner, and I'm fine with the idea that people can own guns. There's a difference

between Cheyenne, Wyoming, and New York City, and perhaps there needs to be a difference

in the approach to gun ownership between the two. I do believe that licensing guns and

controlling their distribution is extraordinarily important.

Since I don't think we're going to get gun control, I'd like to see ammo control. The

way I would do that would be have ammunition sold only through state stores that are

very close to police stations. There've been almost 200 mass shootings in 2022 that data

comes from the independent organization the Gun Violence Archive. Incidents near a public

school in Washington, D.C., on the New York subway last month, and this weekend at a California

church and a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, have the public concerned about safety and

shared spaces. But an emerging field of research called behavioral threat assessment is being

used to prevent mass shootings before they occur. After the break, we'll talk more about
