Rosemary Bayer is a state senator in Michigan. She represents a suburban district just north

of Detroit. Most days, she gets in her car and drives west to Lansing. That's where

her office is in the state capital building. Except for this week.

This morning, I got in my car and immediately started driving north.

Rosemary was driving north because that's how she gets to the town of Oxford. She used

to live down the street from Oxford High School. It's still in her district.

Just was automatic. Just going there. Of course, I've been there every day, so that's

Last Tuesday, Oxford became the latest school in the US to experience a mass shooting.

Eleven people got shot. Four were killed and all of those were teenagers. When I spoke

to Rosemary, the funerals had started.
