welcome back to my book of Mormon podcast i'm your host host, Bryce Blankanagle. Unfortunately, Marie has

had what we call mouth surgery, so she's not up to talking for a living for today.

But instead, what I figured what I would do is invite a friend of mine onto the show in order

to help us transition. So those of you listening know, we have now finished all of the Josephite revelations,

all of the Doctrine and Covenants, all of the Pearl of Great Price, the Book of Mormon,

and all the non-canonized revelations, and we just now finished the King Fulet discourse.

And now what we're going to do is take the direction of the show into reading the RLDS and

Community of Christ Revelations. But there is a massive gap to get us from the death of Joseph

Smith in 1844 to his son leading the RLDS and creating the reorganization in April

60, or April of 1860.

And unfortunately, if any of you listen to Naked Mormonism, you know that my studies are progressing chronologically along the timeline.

So this is what I call a black hole of history knowledge for me.

John is the pastor of the Toronto Community of Christ congregation. He is also a member of the Corm of 70 of the Community of Christ. He's a past president of the John Whitmer Historical Association. Very excited to be on here. This is a really amazing project that you guys have embarked on.

And it's impressive to have gotten all the way through, you know, where you're now moving off Brighamites and now moving on to Josephites and otherites and all the otherites.. And so it's going to be a lot of fun. Certainly. Well, the thing is, like, whenever we talk

Mormonism and even within the restoration of sex, Mormonism is usually referred to as

Brighamite. You know, that's the Brighamite, Utah congregation. But Mormonism is so much more vast and diverse than just the Utah Brighamite faction with, you know, the theodemocracy as it was established in the Mexico territory.

So in order to enrich our understanding of the entirety of Mormonism and Mormon prophets, it feels like kind of a disservice to leave out the community of Christ because that's the patrilineal descendant church of the original Joseph Smith.

And there was an entire period of time when Joseph Smith died in 44.
