Summary

This is the first of two stories this week. One gentle story, and one a bit more scary. This magical fairytale from the late Scottish Traveller: Duncan Williamson, is a gentle story about a scarecrow whose dreams come true on Christmas Eve. It’ll make you believe in magic. Beautifully told by Storyteller Shane Ibbs.

0:50.2	get to welcome a new storyteller to our podcast. His name is Shane Ibs and of
0:57.2	course a those of you who celebrate Christmas it's nearly here. This first
1:02.9	story is a traveler story from Scotland about a scarecrow and a hair and the
1:09.7	second story which we're also posting this week is a marvelous but slightly
1:15.4	scary story about a little boy a Christmas tree and a troll and it's told by
1:24.3	the very talented storyteller Emily Hennessy. Now here is a challenge for you.
1:31.4	Since our first story features a hair can you have a think about what makes
1:37.2	hair different to rabbits while we have a quick word with the grownups. Hello super

1:52.5	far away. What is the best kind of story? Well I think the best kind of story is an
1:59.3	old story which has been told for many years and passed on from person to
2:04.2	person. That's a good answer. I thought you're going to say something specific like
2:07.6	only Baba Yaga stories or a Nancy stories or stories that have to have two
2:12.1	head of giants in them. No just a story which has been loved and passed
2:16.4	along and told by lots of people. Right okay so if we really want more people
2:21.9	to hear stories seems like we're going to need help from our lovely listeners.
