He would talk about wanting to end up with a gold jacket. He was braggadocious. He was 25 years old.

It was confusing everything that was going on with Velas Jones.

And then for years, we would watch and try to figure out, does the man have a position?

Does he have some place that he can play?

Is there a skill set that makes sense?

I remember when I was going through his college football game logs to find out how many

punts he had returned because the answer, I think the answer was like four and only one of them

was at night because he couldn't return punts at night as a member of the Bears. And now he's

still in the NFL and he's a member of the Seattle Seahawks.

He was a healthy scratch yesterday in the NFC championship game.

But even healthy scratches get Super Bowl rings and Super Bowl trips.

So Valis is going to the big dance.
