Summary

Throughout 2010 and 2011, the Los Zetas and Gulf Cartel battled for control of Tamaulipas, while cities like San Fernando - right in the middle of this contested territory - suffered the consequences. The federal government attempted to help, but were unable to stop the unchecked violence from spreading outside of the state.

As an investigation into the heinous migrant massacre carried on, authorities began to make additional discoveries in the area around San Fernando...
