I was standing at our apartment pool the other day attempting to solve a conundrum that I've encountered many times with loan.

How the hell like at this spray sunscreen on my back?

I could ask someone to help me out, but being that I was alone, that was more daunting than it needed to be.

I could also do that awkward behind the back, blind spray and hope for the best, but I didn't want to face my wife should I accidentally get sun burnt.

I finally decided to employ that very technique before I sat down in my chair, put my sunglasses on, and shut my eyes to get some much needed sun.

As I sat there, I began to have a realization.

I'm not sure if it was a smell of the sunscreen or maybe even the drifting smell of the cut grass coming from the park next door, but it kind of hit me all at once.

I hadn't realized it until then, but it was officially summer.

It's those scents, the sunscreen, the fresh grass, the barbecues from afar, that really signify that it is in fact summer.

And I think out of all of the seasons, and yes, I'm even talking about fall here, summer has more trademark sense than any other.

Which is why I'd be remiss to not offer listeners this summer's scented candle recommendations for the season ahead of us.

This summer, I'm going to do something a little different than in years previous.

I'm going to offer you an approachably priced candle, a mid-range candle, and a high-end candle that you should probably start saving for now if it tickles your fancy.

Let's begin with this summer's most approachable scent, golden coast by PF Candle Company.

Wailing in at $20, it's still high enough that you can feel good about the money that you're spending. Independently owned and operated out of Los Angeles since 2008, PF Candle Company is probably a company that you've seen before, but maybe without really even realizing it.

They're all vegan and cruelty free, and they're made with 100% domestically grown soy wax.

This particular candle is perfect for year-round use, but summer is where it really gets clearance to flex its muscles a bit.

It's fresh, it's herbal, but with a touch of woodsiness in it.
