Summary

In this final episode of the Advent season, Sr. Mary Grace, Sr. Ann Immaculée, and Sr. Marie Veritas discuss how the birth of Christ reminds us of the gift of our existence and the sacredness of every human life. The Sisters explain how honoring our dignity transforms the way we see ourselves and treat others. As we prepare for the coming of Christ, let us embrace the truth that we are good because God has chosen us and rescued us.

our sacredness. The truth that you are sacred, which is on our sacredness.

1:11.2

The truth that you are sacred, which is something I don't know we think a lot about, maybe necessarily.

1:18.5

But maybe think about this story I heard recently about a Minnesotan and an Australian going for a hike.

1:24.3

Whoever could that be.

1:26.8

It was a winter hike, mind you, just to add the edge.

1:30.4

There was lots of snow. There was snow falling when we went. We went recently on an adventurous hike.

1:35.2

Those of you who, if you want to look it up, it's called the Chasm Lake hike is the one that we

1:39.4

attempted on a winter morning just a couple of weekends ago. It was fun. Yeah, it was awesome.

1:45.3

We were looking for like a long one too. Yeah. Some of them were like three miles, four miles, but this one was eight miles. One way? One way? No, eight miles tall around. Oh, wow. It was still long. But put in like hill, I mean, not hill. We're talking mountain, snow, falling snow, freezing cold weather, pitch blacks.

2:03.3

We had to get up early this one. 3.30. Yeah. So we're like moving at four. We didn't get to the trailhead till 5.30. And this is the first time I think ever we've gone to a trailhead where we've been the only ones in the parking lot. It was scary. Yeah. It actually was, It was legitimately freaky that nobody was there. We were like, maybe we shouldn't be here.

3:07.5

People were recommending starting around then because, you know, the lady you leave it, the high risk of a storm. So we were choosing the safe option, the early, but the safe option. But it was, it was pitch black. So we had a nice little lighthead. Yeah, yeah. Okay, good. We had one. Just one. Yeah, we had a flashlight. It was awesome, though, because the sun was literally just beginning to rise as we were walking. It was, and there's nothing like a winter sunrise. I don't actually know if they're different than the summer sunrises, but I do think they are different. But you could see it through the trees. And yeah, it was like the sky was on fire. It was absolutely stunning. It was completely silent. Yeah. It was, yeah, just remarkable. There were even times with the snow. I don't remember if you remember, like looked almost like a pinkish red, like just gently because it was so like the light was a fiery red and orange. It wasn't just lightness and the snow was just reflecting it all.

3:26.6

Anyway, sounds very idealistic, but I don't know about you, but I remember one moment, we're like a good hour into this hike. And I mean, we're going like straight up. It's like snowy stairs, basically, is what this hike is. This train is crushing it way ahead. I'm kind of every now and then gasping just to let it know that I'm still here.

3:25.7

But at one point we stopped for a break, which was the smallest amount of breaks were ever done
