0:16.7 | purpose of suffering. Suffering is one of the most difficult things in life. |
0:21.6 | However, in the Beatitudes Jesus said, |
0:25.2 | happy are those who suffer for the sake of righteousness. Well, how in the world could |
0:30.4 | suffering make us happy? Well Well here are two good reasons. First |
0:35.5 | suffering can be good for us because it can empty us of our selfishness and our self-reliance and our pride and our disordered |
0:48.7 | attachments making room in our soul to be filled by God. |
0:54.0 | But suffering can also increase our faith, hope, and love, |
0:59.0 | which increases our capacity to receive even more of God's life and our suffering can help others. |
1:07.2 | In fact, Jesus is inviting us to help him save souls by our suffering. |
1:14.5 | All we need to do is just accept what we did not choose, |
1:19.3 | do not like, and cannot change, and then offer it up. |
1:23.0 | So don't waste your suffering. |
1:27.0 | Offer it up because your soul and the souls of others |
1:32.0 | are depending on you. |
1:34.0 | Our father who art in heaven, hallow would be your name. |
1:39.0 | Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. |
1:42.0 | Give us to stay our daily bread and forgive us. come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. |
1:42.6 | Give us to stay our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass |
1:48.6 | against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil |
