Welcome to the Rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for and this would be a good time

also to hit pause and do a brief examination of conscience. Today we begin to meditate on the sacrament of anointing, a very misunderstood

sacrament. To grasp the purpose and value of this sacrament, we must be reminded of the meaning and purpose of suffering.

So let's begin with an important distinction.

Only evil is evil.

Pain, sorrow, suffering, and loss can be good.

We need to define the word evil.

Since all existence comes from God, and God is all good, it follows that evil cannot come from God or be a form of existence.

Evil is a specific form of non-existence.

Evil is the absence of a good which should be present.

If something is bad, it's because it's missing something it should have. It's bad to be blind because it means

you don't have sight. It's bad to have cancer because the cells lack the proper harmony with

the rest of the body in their process of replicating.

And it's bad for the chiefs to lose when they should win.

So we shall not experience evil today and the chiefs will win.

Finally, it's morally bad to be wicked because it means you lack the virtue.

The honesty and the prudence and love you ought to have.

To make it clear then, evil is the absence of a good which should be present.
