We have a lot planned on today's program, including the news of the day.

But we also have the pleasure of welcoming Catherine Limbaugh

back to announce the next recipient of the Great American Business Award.

It is wonderful to be here with you today, ladies and gentlemen, 800282-282 is the phone number

to be a part of the conversation on this open line Friday.

But as to the Great American Business Award, this was something that Catherine and Rush started last year in response to the pandemic and its impact on small business.

We know so well the backbone of America that small business represents and we know equally well how how tough it has

been for this past year as these these men and women get up and go to work every single day

producing for their clients for their customers for their for their families. And we know that story,

right? So many times. So many times it's the small business owner. It's the great American

business owner that is out there struggling well after midnight and very, very early in the morning.

Now, sadly, Rush was not able to see their idea through to fruition, but Catherine is making sure his wish has become a reality. And we all get to experience that together today. That is the remarkable nature of this award. It's going to be uplifting, motivational, exciting, and I can't wait to get underway with it.

But first, we have to start on a bit of a somber note as unfortunately we're getting this

news that came through the overnight hours at the FedEx facility near the Indianapolis airport

as a gunman killed eight people and wounded several others before apparently taking his own life

in that late night attack at the FedEx facility near the airport in Indianapolis.

Now, details are still forthcoming. There was a press briefing earlier today.

There's not much still known or there is much to learn.

There is not much known still about a motive or any of that sort of stuff.
