We're heading into Memorial Day weekend.

A lot of excitement about this weekend and I'm walking down the hall. I just got some coffee.

I'm in an undisclosed Pennsylvania studio location. I'm walking down the hall and I hear the music start. I hear the Rush Limbaugh, you know, recognizable globally.

Recognize globally. I heard the music. Oh, this rush must be starting and then it just hit me. Wait a minute, I gotta be on.

Isn't that weird? Because I've listened like many of you. I listened to Rush for 30 years. So I heard the music and then I, anyway,

the good news, it's Friday and you know what that means. Live from New York City. It's open, live Friday.

And the exciting thing about that is we can legally say life from New York because Ali, our call screener, she's in a secret location in New York.

Yeah, and so is Mike. We're scattered all over because the governor said we have to be 600 miles apart and we're a mask.

It's bitter sweet. Is it not heading into Memorial Day weekend with a pandemic? But before it, before I get too far into the segment, I want to share this with you for people that tuned in today and said,

I thought Rush was going to be back. Honey, you said Rush was going to be back. It's can. What's going on? Well, Rush actually explained it yesterday and he did a better job than me. So here he is.

A programming note, ladies and gentlemen, I have decided to take tomorrow off. I'm guest. I just know what a way to say it. So I'm going to take tomorrow off. We have Monday Memorial Day off. We'll be back here on Tuesday.

And who's the who's we have a guest host? Ken Matthews will be guest hosting tomorrow. We have a standby at all times here in case it's necessary. So I'm just adding a day to the Memorial Day weekend that doesn't involve blood draws and scans and cancer consultations and so forth. So do that. And then the Monday holiday back here on Tuesday.

And there it is. Not only the number one anchor man in America, the most honest and transparent and candid as well. So thank you, Mr Limbaugh for the opportunity. And thank you for for tuning in. You've been thank you for tuning in 800 to 82 28882. Now it is bittersweet. And what I mean by that we're heading into a Memorial Day weekend for people who know what that is.

We're recognizing the people that have lost their lives in defense of our country and our liberties, the men and women that have sacrificed that's the ultimate sacrifice. So here we are. We're heading in to this time, which is again, it's always kind of mixed for some people, depending on your relationship to the military, your own involvement, your family's involvement, your study of history, whatever it may be for some people.

But you know, you fly the flag and you have a barbecue and there's nothing wrong with that. And for others, it's a very somber time. But I think one thing we can agree on this year. And this is what to me, it makes my heart sink that we're heading into a Memorial Day weekend where there are states that will not let.

Boy scout troops put flags on graves. They won't let groups do that. And in the past, my kids did it. They were both in scouts. And I remember that was I of all the things we did.

For me as a scout dad, I was never a leader, but for all the things we did, that to me was the most exciting because I could tell them about their grandfather's and their uncles and men and women in our family over the years that were in different areas of the world in the military.

And it's just it was just a cool time. You know, you've got all these kids, these young kids and uniforms and with their American flags and we're going, usually you do it after church on the sunny before Memorial Day. Sometimes you do it Memorial Day before you have like the scout picnic.

But a lot of our leftist leaders said no. And I'm like, wait a minute. First you said we can't go to church if it's over 10 people. So first you said that.

So we've looked at what we've given up just recently. And I can't help but wonder if some of those men and women were alive. What would they be thinking today?
