As we enter what might well be the hottest day of the year, the sky is blue.

There's a bit of haze out there.

We're being told by some people that it's certainly going to get up to about 33 degrees in the southeast of this country.

It might even reach 40 degrees, which would be quite an extraordinary temperature, I have to be said.

I don't think I've ever been in any place quite as hot as that.

But it's obviously going to be one thing only this afternoon.

It's going to be taps aft, as they say in Glasgow.

Everybody's going to be out enjoying the sunshine.

But of course, we will not be issuing you with any warnings

because we here at Talk TV assume you to be relatively intelligent beings, reasonably

intelligent individuals who know how to deal with the weather, so I'm not going to say things

like, make sure you take plenty of water with you if you go on the underground. Please
