The king sat slowly peeling his banana.

He lent all of his concentration to making sure each strip of yellow was of equal size,

and that all the stringy pomples removed from the fruit.

Three times his bejeweled royal crown slipped down over his furrowed brow to hit the bridge

of his nose.

At last he took a bite and declared, the best discovery yet!

Standing in silent anticipation, the lords and ladies of the court now let out a simultaneous

sigh of relief.

They turned their heads to the cartloads of fruit being wheeled in through the great thrown

room doors.

The stacked up bunches of yellow and green bananas looked as foreign and strange as eight

and ten legged creatures fished out of the deep deep ocean.

A banana for one and all, said the king, and he sat triumphantly in his gilded chair.

Then as the room filled with oozing, ahs and oh mys, and the pleasant smacking of lips,

he leaned to his side and whispered to the admiral of his fleet.

I shall like to meet this man, this discoverer of bananas, bring him to me.

The stout decorated admiral of the sea brought forth a brown haired sunburned sailor from

the back of the room.

The young man kneeled on the red carpet before the king.

Well, did I eat it correctly?
