Summary

I've done this terrifying story by E F Benson before, but that was in 2019 and the sound wasn't great. Thanks to my supporters, I have much better sound equpiment now and I hope I'm a better narrator. I hope you like itIn this edge-of-your-seat episode, Tony Walker plunges into the sinister world of E.F. Benson's haunting story. Our protagonist, an unnamed young man, is plagued by an eerie recurring nightmare. In his dream, he visits a friend's foreboding home, inhabited by an ever-changing roster of silent and grim figures. Foremost among them is the unsettling Mrs. Stone, who persistently assigns him a room in the tower - a room that fills him with an indescribable dread. As the characters in the dream grow older and more bizarre over time, the terror continues to twist and turn. But the real question remains: What truly lurks in the room in the tower? Why does it inspire such fear? Everybody come back.

Isn't that so?

You tried to get into the locked drawer today, didn't you?

How do that they'd come back? It is probable that everybody who is at all a constant the room in the tower.

0:20.9

It is probable that everybody who is at all a constant dreamer has had at least one experience

0:28.1

of an event or a sequence of circumstances which have come to his mind in sleep being

0:33.6

subsequently realized in the material world. But in my opinion, so far from this being a strange thing,

0:41.3

it would be far odder if this fulfilment did not occasionally happen,

0:46.3

since our dreams are, as a rule, concerned with people whom we know,

0:50.3

and places with which we are familiar,

0:53.3

such as might very naturally occur in the

0:55.7

awake and daylit world. True, these dreams are often broken into by some absurd and fantastic

1:02.8

incident, which puts them out of court in regard to their subsequent fulfillment. But on the

1:08.2

mere calculation of chances, it does not appear in the least unlikely that a dream imagined by anyone who dreams constantly should occasionally come true.

1:19.1

Not long ago, for instance, I experienced such a fulfillment of a dream, which seems to me in no way remarkable, and to have no kind of psychical significance.

1:29.8

The manner of it was as follows. A certain friend of mine, living abroad, is amiable enough to

1:35.8

write to me about once a fortnight. Thus, when fourteen days or thereabouts have elapsed since I

last heard from him, my mind, probably, either consciously or subconsciously,

1:47.0

is expectant of a letter from him. One night last week, I dreamed that as I was going upstairs

to dress for dinner, I heard, as I often heard, the sound of the postman's knock on my front door,

and diverted my direction downstairs instead. There,
