and today this Monday we are talking about the Romanov's episode five bright and high circle

Jim how how high and how bright was this circle for you?

It wasn't the the dim and low circle I mean it wasn't I didn't hate it it was kind of on par with everything else that I've seen from the Romanovs I don't think it was awful I don't think it was great somewhere in the middle

yeah I I don't think it was great somewhere in the middle. Yeah, I I this is a pretty messy episode because it's trying to say something and I think the thing it's it feels like to me the thing it's it's trying to say is kind of

You know in in the air of me too and as we talked about in the very first episode

Matthew Weiner's kind of involvement in that, is, you know, is, is, is bearing false

witness the worst crime the one can commit it?

Obviously not.

I mean, I can think of a litany of crimes that are worse.

I feel like murder.

Murder is the worst thing you can do.

Maybe mass murder.

Yeah. Is the worst crime one can be because that's the one that is, you know, like there's no kind of appeal

from death, the abyss.

But it's, and then I'm not, because like you can go to lots of places on internet to see a lot of very

interesting and nuanced takedowns of this episode and a lot of people bemoaning, Matthew Weiner's, whatever artistic vision.

I want to try to talk in terms, I mean I'm definitely going to talk about that stuff but I first want to talk about I guess the purely subjective artistic opinion in which I thought this was an unusually

stilted episode of the Romanovs thinking that a lot of the
