Is the American Church more divided today than ever before?

Now that's a question I never thought I'd be asking on the spillover where we talk a

lot about murder, celebrities and birth control just to name a few subjects, but it's also

one of the biggest questions I think we should be asking these days.

I mean, since 2020 division has been America's middle name and the church was no exception.

Churches were divided over closing, mask band dates, politics and what the church's

role should be in culture.

Some pastors were arrested while other congregations were fined simply for holding services.

There were even churches that didn't allow singing while people were writing in the

streets screaming at the top of their lungs.

Children's got so bad that America's history as a Christian nation was something people

wanted to take back.

Summer 2020 seems like 50 years ago at this point, and even though most, if not all churches

have long since opened their doors, I think it's crucial to ask if the American Church

is still more divided today than ever before.

Why?

Because either way, it will lead to necessary answers about the state of culture and the role

Christians play.
