0:18.2	We have one day at TMBT to focus on the Old Testament book of Lamentations, so let's get to it. The Book of Lamentations is five chapters full of laments
0:25.0	over the destruction of Jerusalem.
0:27.3	To lament means to express deep sorrow or grief.
0:31.6	Laments bring the sadness of life before God. The Book of Lamentations is
0:36.4	lamenting the sin that caused Jerusalem to be destroyed and the pain that
0:41.3	resulted from it. Whenever you see a limit in the Bible,
0:45.0	it usually is asking a couple of questions.
0:48.0	The first is, God, why have you allowed this to happen?
0:52.0	Where are you in this? And the second question is,
0:55.8	God, if you love me, then how can this possibly be happening to me?
1:01.0	The Book of Lamitation ask hard questions because it directly deals
1:05.7	with the pain we experience in our life. The Christian life is not Pollyanna,
1:10.4	pie in the sky, everything is sunshine rainbows.
1:13.2	The Bible doesn't deny the hard realities of life,
1:16.6	but for some reason we aren't very good at lamenting the hard painful difficult
1:21.3	things in our life.
1:22.3	That's especially true of church worship. hard, painful, difficult things in our life.
