Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. Alhamdulillah, he thumma alhamdulillah, he

thumma alhamdulillah, we begin. By praising Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, the one and the

unique, he it is alone whom we worship and it is his aid that we seek. He revealed the

Qur'an to our Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and he taught Adam how to speak. As

to it follows, we begin today insha'Allah a new topic within our stories of the prophets, within

the story of our prophet Adam alayhi sallam and today's entire lecture will be dedicated to the

alleged role of our mother Hawa. May Allah zawajal send his salat and salam upon her and what

has been mentioned about the role of Hawa when it comes to this issue of disobedience, this issue

of eating from the tree. Now the Qur'an is actually very very explicit in this regard in that our

mother Hawa is never singled out and no blame is put on her directly. Any time the blame is put

it is put on the both of them. Fawassuwasa la huma ash shaytan shaytan whispered to the both of

them. Fa akala minha, the both of them ate from the tree. A la Rabbana ra lam naan fusana,

they said both Adam and Hawa we have wronged ourselves. Wa qa sama huma shaytan deluded the both

of them. Fadallah huma shaytan caused the both of them to slip. Allah says alam and Hakuma didn't

I stop the both of you from eating from this tree. Wa akul lakuma and I said to the both of you

that you should not eat from this tree. So the Qur'an has no concept of Hawa taking an extra blame

from Adam. In fact if anything it is the opposite because even though the default of the Qur'an

is to mention the both of them together. Sometimes Allah zawajal singles out our father Adam.

Hence it is as if we get from the Qur'an that our father Adam has the lion share or the bigger

share of responsibility. And the most explicit verse is of Kursul-o-Tahah wa aasah adamu
