We know that the Bible

that the Bible teaches us that the way that a people views its own history

of affects the way that people behaves.

If you look in the book of judges, you have the story of the nation of Israel that goes

to their cycle ups and downs and ups and

down seven cycles and whether Israel is up or whether Israel is down always

depends on whether Israel remembers her history. If she remembers why God brought her into existence and what her national purpose was, she behaves

differently than when she forgets.

And you recall the story of Josiah, when they were rebuilding the temple, getting

God back in the center of that nation, which is a great thing

for any nation to do. And the midst of doing that, they found that old scroll. They brought it out and they said,

you mean we used to be like this? Seeing that scroll, seeing their history led to a national revival. And so it is that we have past seeing that Hebrew 11 and Psalms 3 and Psalm 77.

All these passages were that God says,

recall the former days, remember the former times.

God's into knowing our history.

As a matter of fact, when you get to the New Testament,

now we've gone through the Old Testament, we go through the life of Jesus

and the Gospels, we get into the birth of the New Testament in the Book of Acts.

They're in the Book of Acts.
