We have some elders of the music industry stepping up here making a lot of waves.

First, let's talk about Van Morrison. He's the songwriter, brown-eyed girl, moon dance.

He's stepped up. He's a rock-a-roll hall of fame or two. He stepped up early. He came out in

October 2020 against the lockdowns really early on into this. And he was one of the really first

notable musicians to stand up and come forth. And he sat here nearly 170,000 jobs lost in

Britain's British live music industry alone. Van Morrison laments decimation of a sector.

And now as we know, it's not just the music industry sector. It's main street. It's even

even entire streets in New York. A lot of people leaving states. But then a couple

a couple months after that, he actually took his art and made his voice heard again. And he wrote

three songs against these lockdowns. Van Morrison protested COVID-19 lockdowns in three new

songs. Song titles like Born to Be Free, no more lockdowns. He was really going out of him.

And he has not shut up yet. He's been outspoken even with his latest video last week.

And then we move on to Pink Floyd. Roger Waters. He's the co-founder of Pink Floyd.

He was speaking out not so much against the lockdowns or the vaccines or anything like that.

But he was approached by Mark Zuckerberg, head of Facebook. And the headline looks like this.

Kind of a laughable one. Roger Waters told Facebook, there's no f-ing way. He let them use

Pink Floyd music in an ad. And this is what that sounded like because he went off on a live panel

about it. Check this out. I'd just like to say something very brief. This is something that I

actually put in my folder when I came out here today. You have no idea what it is. Nobody does

because it arrived on the internet to me this morning. It's a request for the rights to use my

song, another brick in the wall too, in the making of a film to promote Instagram. So it's a missive.
