Today is September 4th, 2025, and we're headed down the roads to a government shutdown.

The country is once again heading towards a government shutdown due to the inability of the Republican Party to come up with

a workable budget that can actually pass, even though they control both houses of Congress.

So, the most likely option is, once again, some kind of continuing resolution, rather than,

you know, an actual budget. We're going to go over

the plans and options for both parties and try to fill everybody in on the thought process of the

parties as we barrel toward the September 30th deadline. Even though the deadline is at the end of the month,

Congress is only scheduled to be working in the legislature for about two weeks of that time. They're actually scheduled to be

out the week of the 22nd. So, on the Republican side of the aisle, what's the plan? They have

two options. Option one, they can obey Trump and not

represent their constituents' interest by pushing a partisan package without negotiation or input from

Democrats, which will almost certainly include more cuts to programs where can class Americans depend on.

This runs a number of risks. First, there's a possibility that some vulnerable Republicans don't go along with deeper cuts, and they don't get it out of the House.

Or, there's a chance that because of Trump's habit of withholding congressionally approved

funds, that it doesn't make it out of the Senate.

They'll need at least some Democratic support in the Senate.
