And I'm Yasmin Ammer. So Andrea, sometimes our relationships

with our family members, the people closest to us, can seem pretty set, right? I mean, you think

you know all there is to know about them.

Yeah I'm not really sure though because our relationships with our family members

they can grow apart and it can be really difficult to mend and kind of put them back together.

Exactly. So actually this week I have a story about that very thing about how our

relationships can sometimes change and grow in very interesting and inspiring ways.

Chaz McClure remembers the moment when he first held his newborn 48 years ago.

He'd been praying for a daughter.

Oh, I mean, it was just, you would bring tears to my eyes, you know, the first time was just overwhelmingly emotional and then holding

her and it was monumental, really one of the highlights of my whole life.

That incredible moment, getting to hold his premature baby in the nursery,

came soon after the agonizing pain of losing his firstborn son due to birth defects.

He was only six months old.

Chaz and his then wife would lose another newborn son four years later, also due to

birth defects.

Chaz's only surviving child, Tanya,

became his pride and joy.

That's where she's the easiest child
