people across the country, it's a day to gather with friends and family, eat comfort food, drink beer, and relax.

But Fawzi Camel, a driver for Uber Black, is hard at work. He has three passengers in his car.

0:45.0

Fawzi doesn't know the two women, but he definitely knows the man sitting in between them. It's Uber CEO Travis Kalinit.

But Fawzi tries to ignore Travis. He keeps his eyes on the road and his hands on the wheel, as one of the women leans over to Travis.

Being a rough year, huh? Well, it's always a hard year. If it's not hard, I'm not pushing myself hard enough.

1:06.0

Fawzi nearly rolls his eyes. He doesn't want to hear about Travis' hard year. Fawzi used to do well driving for Uber, but recent changes to the service have cost Fawzi a lot of money.

As the ride comes to an end, Travis leans forward. Up there, you just pull up to the side right there. Over here? Yeah, right here. Good. Thanks.

As the two women get out, Travis extends his hand. Fawzi takes it. Hey, man, thank you. Thank you.

My problem is that you're raising the standard and dropping the price. I bought a new car, an expensive one that I had to buy to stay on Uber Black.

2:02.0

And then you dropped the price? Well, yeah, we have to. We have competitors. Otherwise, we go out of business, competitors.

2:09.0

You have the business model in your hands. You could set the prices you want, but you choose to buy everybody a ride.

2:14.0

Now, you don't understand. We started high-end. We didn't go low-end because we wanted to. We went low-end because we had to. What? Because a lift?

2:22.0

Ah, that's a piece of cake right there. It seems like a piece of cake because I've beaten them. But if I didn't do the things I did, we would have been beaten. I promise you.

2:30.0

But Fawzi doesn't want Travis' promises. Fawzi wants the money he lost. People don't trust you anymore. I can't afford to pay for the car you made me buy.

2:39.0

I lost $97,000 because of you. Because you keep changing every day. Hold on a second. Hold on a second. What if I change about Uber Black?

2:46.0

You changed the whole business. You dropped prices. On Uber Black? Yes. No, that's bullshit. We started with $20. How much is the mile now? $275.
