What's up? This is a ripple fact podcast. I'm your host, Ricky Vranes. If you aren't sick of hearing my voice after the last two and a half hour podcast, Robbie Martin, then I'm glad you tuned in because this is another long podcast, but another awesome one. And the last one with Robbie Martin just was flowing and we hit on so many topics and this one's very similar.

And I want to give Enter Shikari kind of a proper introduction because we kind of jumped right into conversation and we didn't really, I didn't, I don't feel like I really explained their music or what their sound much at all, even though there really isn't anything to compare them to because they're a combination of hardcore, punk, metalcore, with

1:28.9

dubstep, electronica, industrial, trance, and it's just a mixture of all these genres.

1:35.3

And even if I was asked to find a band that they were the most similar to, I'm not sure I could

1:40.2

find one.

1:40.7

So I think that if you want to check them out, unfortunately, YouTube's a little

1:45.5

cunty with putting music online. So with copyrighted music and I have a feeling they'll kick me off

1:50.6

or kick off my YouTube video if I end up putting their song on. So I may or may not be playing

them in the background. But don't tell YouTube. So, but in our show description, I always put easy links to find all the guests work and just easy way to kind of get a whole of their stuff. And if you're a fan of theirs, or if you become a fan of theirs after the show, then you can just easily find them. Like I always tell you guys, I do a video episode of every guest that is willing to do a video, a Skype conversation, because there are some guests sometimes. We're just like, oh, well, I just want to do audio, which is cool with me. That's fine. Sometimes I just think that it's more comfortable. Maybe just do an audio and you don't feel like you have to steer out a camera or anything like that. So I can see that perspective. But in this case, Rao did a video episode with me.

2:34.8

So if you're listening to this on your phone or whatever,

2:37.0

then definitely check out our YouTube channel, RV Theory 6,

2:39.3

where you can see the split screen conversation between me and Rao.

2:42.5

And you can kind of put faces to the voices and the opinions and stuff.

2:47.7

So I know sometimes that's something that people like to do

2:50.7

is just kind of put a face to the voice. So check that out. And also support their music. Like I said, I'll put links to his stuff. So support his music. It's a lot of social issues and political. I hate to use the word political. And I know he doesn't like it too. But I don't know what other way of really explain it. I guess social issues. We'll just keep it of social issues, but it's a lot of social issues that he hits on and global issues and just issues in general. I think that he hits on a lot of important topics that I'm glad that he's sparking these conversations and there's not a lot of artists doing it. So I'm glad that there is bands like Enter Shikari because, you know, those days, Raging Against Machine and one minute silence are kind of behind us,

3:28.0

you know, when those, you know, one time Raging This Machine was one of the biggest

3:32.0

bands topping the charts and they had a lot of, obviously, political and then social,

3:38.0

I guess, metaphors and issues that they spoke about.
