I want to start off with something that I've kind of been pondering on. And it's funny because when I had you, when we scheduled you, I'm like, oh, you know, I'd be really interested with what Doug has to say about this.

So from like the beginning of civilization until today, and I've heard you kind of briefly hit on this topic before, it seems like technology was always designed to give us more free time.

You know, it was like, you know, first we're like monkeys and then, you know, we have hunter

Most of our free time went to just surviving from getting food, from, you know, just. Right. If it's dedicated to surviving, then it isn't free time. Yeah, exactly. And it seems like, exactly. And then as time went by, you know, and as we technology, you know, we created tools and all and stuff, we had more free time to, you know, that's when philosophy came in art because we had time to think about things and come up with hobbies and do things that we enjoy that are creative. And what happened? Because it seems like if, if that trend kept on, uh, progressing, eventually we would, you know, a term that you've used before you know we'd be slackers we

would finally be able to work like a week out of the year and uh and then have all this free time to just

do the things we enjoy and not have to be you know um forced to sell our our you know our labor

you know per hour to survive like when what happened with technology when did that trend do you think it was marketing do you think it was uh you know capitalism per hour to survive. Like when, what happened with technology? When did that trend, do you think it was marketing?
