Summary

Few are standing for the inherent dignity and rights of children against the innovations of our age. But in this cultural moment, defending children against gender ideology and misguided interpretations of parenting is our version of "running into the plague and caring for victims" while everyone else is running away.

John Stonestreet introduces author Katy Faust, the founder and director of the children's rights organization Them Before Us and author of the new book "Them Before Us: Why We Need a Global Children's Rights Movement." She is married and the mother of four children, the youngest of whom is adopted from China.

0:56.5	largely as normal. And for the sake of the kids, we need to rethink some of those things.
1:02.1	Let me introduce my friend Katie Faust. She is the founder and president of an organization
1:06.5	called Them Before Us. And she is all about exactly what we've been talking about. How do we put our
1:12.9	kids needs and what's best for them before our own desires and our own wants? I think it's one of
1:19.5	the great questions that this generation will have to answer. And I think historically we're going to
1:25.1	have to prove whether we did that well or whether we didn't.
1:28.3	Katie also is the author of a tremendous book called Them Before Us, and you'll have a chance to pick that up at the bookstore across the way here.
1:35.0	And Katie will have a chance to sign it if you want to do that after our event tonight.
1:39.2	But she has been writing and speaking and advocating on behalf of children's rights for a long time now. She is widely
1:45.9	respected as an authority in this area, both in academic circles and in church circles, but also
1:53.5	in circles of public policy. And so she's got an incredible amount of experience both nationally
