When Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib wanted to go to Israel recently,

President Trump urged Israel to keep them out.

Here's Congresswoman Tlaib.

It is unfortunate that Prime Minister Netanyahu has apparently taken a page out of Trump's

book in even direction from Trump to deny this opportunity.

Tlaib had planned to visit her grandmother in the West Bank.

Israel eventually said she could make that trip, but she turned it down, saying the conditions

of the offer were oppressive.

Part of the reason for the flare-up, the Congresswoman supported a movement called BDS, which stands

for boycott divestment sanctions.

Supporters say BDS is a nonviolent protest to pressure the Israeli government about its

treatment of the Palestinian people.

Those who oppose BDS believe its goal is to eliminate Israel as a Jewish state.

Even though they're both Democrats and Republicans who oppose BDS, Trump is casting criticism

of Israel as a partisan issue.

And I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows either a total

lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.

Long before these controversies made their way to President Trump's Twitter feed, John
